Description
Thallus form and type: Bushy, cartilaginous and compressed

Occurrence: Mid littoral zone, exposed rocks

Season: November-April

Plants dark red to pinkish red in color, up to 10 cm tall, bushy, compressed 1.5-2.5 mm in breadth, irregularly pinnately branched; branching marginal, very rarely on the flat surface, alternate, sub-opposite and second with broadly rounded apices; secondary branches similar; superficial cells slightly radially elongated, medullary cells without lenticular thickening.
