Thallus form and type: Soft and remiform tufts

Occurrence: Mid littoral zone, rock pools

Season: November-April

Plants dark red in color, up to 10cm tall, attached by heptera arising from basal cells of determinate branches on the prostrate axis, thallus bushy with uniseriate axes and four determinate branches at each node in the form of whorl, basal cells of determinate branches developing ramified filaments with cover the upper parts of the axial cells.
