Size: 1 cm high

Color: Green

Plants twisted, forming entangled masses, attached to the substratum by rhizoids; terminal cells long, slightly swollen below apex; cells of main axis 75-107 μm broad, 914 μm or more long, cell wall stratified; cells in procumbent filaments with a branch on its upper end below septum and a rhizoid at its lower end above septum. Thallus filamentous forming dense mats or in mixed turfs; mostly 2-5 (upto 10) cm tall; glossy; branching alternate below, unilateral above; attaching filaments horizontally spreading, pale or colorless, entangled, fibrous. Main filaments originating from upper end of parent cell; wall formation irregular at long intervals; wall absent from base of branchlet, in open connection to parent cell; attaching filaments often terminating in tenacula-like cells (finger-like pads)
