Size: 11.6 cm.

Color: General color uniform yellow, with more or less conspicuous narrow dark lines along the longitudinal series of scales, some of them broader in upper half of trunk where their middle part is united into a longitudinal oval dark patch, longer than head, extending over about 5 series of scales, three above two below lateral line, on upper border of base of caudal peduncle a black oval spot, a blackish ocular band, narrower than eye, reaching from superior border of inter-operculum to nape, before origin of dorsal.

Oblong oval, not strongly compressed, rostro-dorsal profile moderately ascending in a nearly straight line, slightly concave before eye. Height 1.6-1.8, head 3-3.3 in length. Eye about 3 in head, Some what less than convex inter orbital space, nearly equal to blunt snout. Lower border of eye in horizontal through commencement of gape of mouth which is small, teeth rather long, also on sides of jaws present. Angle of preoperculum rounded, smooth. Scales of medium size, getting smaller posteriorly and very small on head and median fins, arranged in horizontal series, in arched series on upper part of trunk. Lateral line moderately arched. Spinous dorsal much longer than soft, fifth and sixth spine highest, about 1.3-1.6 in head, soft dorsal rounded, anal gently angulate, its second spine the longest, about as long as sixth dorsal spine. Pectorals and ventrals nearly equal, about 1.2 in head. Caudal truncate, least height of its peduncle 2.9 in head.
