Thallus erect, attached by a basal hapteroid disc, with one to several main axes which are cylindrical, bearing laterals spirally arranged; both main axes and laterals polysiphonous uniaxial with four rows of large pericentrals, corticated; cortex several layered with radially elongate cells; main axes and laterals bear clusters of corymbose ramuli which are compressed and incurved. Tetrasporic stichidia borne towards ends of ramuli. Sexual plants are not seen.
