Color: Pale brownish, waved transpirally with dark brown bands which are more distinct on the basal surface of the body whorl.

Shell moderate, depressed spire and a broad, flattened body whorl, the lower part of which is more or less evenly rounded; sculpture consists of close-set spiral ridges which are traversed by obliquely transpiral ribs; the interstices are in the form of narrow, deeply impressed grooves; the ridges on the basal surface of the body whorl are transversely grooved. The umbilicus is moderately wide but its mouth is narrowed by concave, ridge-like thickening of the columella lip.
