Description
Color: Dark brown

Plants spongy; erect system dichotomously or trichotomously branched. Apices of the branches markedly curled around themselves.

Plurilocular sporangia oval, 40-50 µ long and 40 µ broad; terminal on a one-celled stalk. Frequently new sporangia arise through the stalk-cell of an old one. The stalk-cell then representing a collar below the new sporangia.
