Size: Max length 72.0 cm SL male/unsexed

Color: Adults white with broad black stripes, fins yellow with black spots.

Dorsal spines (total): 12 - 14; Dorsal soft rays (total): 17 - 21; Anal spines: 3; Anal soft rays: 7 - 8.

Juveniles undergo remarkable transformation to adult phase at a length of 15 cm.
