Description
Size: 12-92 mm TL

Color: Bluish green becoming lighter on sides and belly. Scales of body with a white spot. A dark green to bluish line from snout to eye. Caudal pale, the lobes greenish brown. Spinous dorsal light bluish green with dark edges. Soft dorsal, anal and ventral pale to greenish. Pectoral pale hyaline with the upper edge of base dusky.

Head 3.0-3.4 in standard length, 4.0-4.4 in total length. Depth of body 2.0-2.3 in standard length, 2.7-3.0 in total length. Eye diameter 3.0-3.3 in head, 0.7-1.0 in snout and equal to or slightly less than convex interorbital space. Teeth in jaws somewhat conical, those in front of lower jaw flaring outwards. Pectoral fin half length of snout shorter than head. Ventral fins equal to or somewhat longer than pectoral fins. Caudal fin lobes pointed. None of the opercular bones serrated.
Number of spines and rays in the dorsal fin: XII, 10; number of spines and rays in the anal fin: II, 10 (11); number of rays in the pectoral fin: ii, 15-16; number of spines and rays in the ventral fin: I, 5; number of scale rows along the lateral line: 15-17+8-10; number of horizontal scale rows usually counted from origin of the dorsal fin to the lateral line and from anal origin to the lateral line: 2+1+8.
