Description
Ascomata 172-265 μm high, 176-287 μm in diameter, solitary or gregarious, bottle-shaped, immersed, ostiolate, papillate, membranous, subhyaline to light brown. Necks 128-441 μm long, 70-115 μm in diameter, cylindrical, centrally inserted, periphysate, color lighter than the ascomata. Catenophyses present. Asci 83-160 × 17-29 μm, eight-spored, clavate to subcylindrical, thin-walled, but thickened at the apex and provided with an apical pore, unitunicate, persistent. Ascospores 18-30 × 9-14 μm, ellipsoidal, apically rounded, one-septate, not or slightly constricted at the septum, hyaline, appendaged. Appendages 1.5-5 μm long, apical or rarely subapical, cap-like at both ends, gelatinous, which uncoils and forms long, filaments when in contact with water, sometimes deciduous or deliquescing.
