Description
Size: 17 cm.

Color: In preserved specimens light brownish, fins whitish with a black terminal border along their posterior half.

Very elongate, much tapering to the tail. Height 4.1-4.4, 4.5-4.8 in length. Head 4.3-5.2, 4.7-5.5 in length with caudal. Eyes 15-16, prominent, almost stalked, subcontiguous, the upper one in advance of the lower. Nostrils of colored side close together in a horizontal line before the eyes, the anterior with long tube, the posterior one with a shorter valve, those of blind side with a valve. Corner of mouth below or somewhat behind vertical through hindborder of lower eye, nearer to end of snout than to branchial opening. Hook of upper jaw short, not reaching below eyes. An upper and a median lateral line on colored side, separated by 15 scales. One indistinct one on blind side. Scales ctenoid on both sides.
