Description
Size: 14.0 cm TL (male)

Distinguished by the thick white line running from the snout over the back. Dorsal spines (total): 9; Dorsal soft rays (total): 6 - 18; Anal spines: 2; Anal soft rays: 12.

Monogamous, protandrous hermaphrodite. External fertilization, guarders, nesters, benthic spawner. Length at sex change = 5.1 cm TL.

Associated with the anemones: Heteractis magnifica, Heteractis crispa and Stichodactyla mertensii.

Has been reared in captivity.
