Description
Outer paleae paddle-shaped with 9-10 teeth, and the median barbed process sometimes missing. Middle paleae with alternating geniculate and hooked directing outwards. Hard tubes of sand grains. When attached on surfaces exposed to direct sunlight, the mouth of the tube is guarded by a shelf-like projection functioning as a shade and protection from heavy waves.
