Description
Size: Length 12.50-55.95 mm; height 10.80-53.58 mm

Hinge broad, shell higher than long; valves thick, more inflated, posterior end without band. This clam has a thick, moderately large shell with a brown horny periostracum. A dark greyish band is present at the posterior margin of the shell. The shell is ovate and heavy.
