Color: Outer surface is pale ash-colored, banded with bluish grey and brownish towards the umbo.

Shell inequilateral, the posterior side being shorter and sloping steeply down from the umbo, broadly triangular in shape; an obtuse keel near the posterior margin; lunule not well defined and external ligament is short and rounded; pallial sinus is broad, deep, very large; inner surface is smooth and polished, deep violet anteriorly and whitish posteriorly rayed with two distinct violet radial bands.
