Description
Part of the thallus prostrate and the growing apex curved or spiral, curvature usually towards the substratum; lateral growth of erect branches limited to two longitudinal rows on opposite sides of the prostrate main axis; plant attached to the substratum by means of the outgrowth forming the “haptera”; hapteron made up of a group of cortical cells.
Plant grows well when the salinity goes as low as 10%.
