Description
Length: Growing up to 150 cm long

Color: Thallus clean green

Substratum: Rocks or any other hard substrata in intertidal area

Season: August-April

Thallus with undulate margins; lobes linear; fronds delicate, usually long but shorter in sheltered localities; basal part of the frond narrowed into a short stalk, expanding into an attaching disc. Cells in surface view polygonal, chloroplast plate-like, pyrenoids 2.

Parthenogenetic development of biflagellate gametes is reported in this species.

Occurs epiphytic on pebbles at the mud flats.
