Color: Livid-brown or horny with or without purple radiating lines and chestnut spots

Shells extremely variable in shape and color-pattern. Shell is thin, usually smooth, orbicular to squarely ovate, conical with subcentric twisted apex; one side concavely excavated making the apex inclined. Surface occassionally sculptured with irregular radial ribs.
