Description
Size: 26 mm in height.

Color: Usually bright maculated, flecked, banded or spotted with brown, yellow, black or orange.

Shell is solid, smooth, quadrate in shape, sharply incised at the base; spire generally sharp; whorls spirally shouldered , aperture oblong, pinkish, bounded on the right by a dilated portion of outer lip; strong spiral lirae present at the base of the columella on the whorls axial ribs or small weak tubercles.

Most of the shells are occupied by hermit crabs.
