Description

Solitary ascidian, more or less globular. Surface mostly covered with sand and shell fragments. Siphons, long with annular and longitudinal muscle bands. Atrial opening bilobed. Test is leathery. Mantle is strong and muscular. Tentacles, much branched, of two sizes. Branchial sac contains six folds on each side. Five internal longitudinal bars on fold, and three in interspace. Dorsal tubercle is small, cordate, ends turned in. Alimentary canal is long, narrow loop, the two horizontal loops lying in direct contact. Four to five elongated hermaphrodite lobes on the right side and three to four lobes on the left side.
