Length of carapace about two-thirds the greatest breadth of carapace and equal to the extent of the fronto-orbital border; the antero-lateral borders distinctly arched. Anterolateral borders of the carapace with three truncated teeth, exclusive of the orbital angle.

Carapace, length a little more than two-thirds the breadth. Fronto-orbital borders nearly five-ninths the breadth of the carapace in extent. Anterolateral borders arched, cut into 4 teeth (including the outer orbital angle) the edges and dorsal surface of which are granular. The first 3 teeth are sharply truncated, the fourth is subacute. Chelipeds in the adult male, nearly twice the length of the carapace and hardly shorter than legs. In the female much less than twice the length of the carapace and markedly shorter than the legs. There is a lobule near the far end of the upper border of the arm, and the inner angle of the wrist is subacute.
