Dynomene pilumnoides   Alcock,  1900 (Crab)
Organism information awaits expert curation
Class: Malacostraca

Color: Yellowish red

Carapace flattish, broader than long. Anterolateral borders are cut into 5 acuminate teeth. Orbital margin spinulated. Carapace scattered with bundles of hairs.

The carapace and appendages are covered with an exceedingly thick tomentum of club-shaped hairs, the chelipeds and legs are also thickly fringed with additional longer hairs. Carapace subcircular, slightly broader than long. Front broadly triangular, deeply grooved in the middle line. Lateral borders of carapace with 5 spine like teeth, the last of which is much smallest and stands at the branchial groove. Chelipeds in the male a little unequal, the smaller one not stouter and unsculptured, except that the posterior border of the dactyli of the legs is serrated. The fourth (last) pair of legs are small slender rudiments, not a fourth the length of the 3rd pair.

The smoothness of the carapace, chelipeds, and legs and the inequality of the chelipeds distinguish this species from Dynomene hispida.
