Length of carapace: 11.50 mm
Breadth of carapace: 10.75 mm

Color: Ashy grey

Carapace smooth, spine at inner canthus of orbit rudimentary; fourth pair of true legs more than half the length of the second.

The carapace is slightly longer than broad, extremely flat, almost laminar; its surface is smooth. The body and appendages are covered with short distant hairs that are not very plainly visible to the naked eye. The spine at the inner canthus of the orbit is rudimentary. The spine at the outer angle of the orbit does not nearly reach to the level of the tip of the frontal teeth. The lateral margin of carapace are smooth. The second true leg is three times as long as the carapace, and very much less than twice the length of the fourth leg. The abdomen of the male is unarmed. The chelipeds are smooth when denuded.

Body and appendages not pubescent as in Dorippe frascone. Most of the species encrusted with shell, species of Scalpellum. Some species carries across its back (inhabited) a large worm tube.
