Description
Size: Width of carapace 46 mm; length of carapace 47 mm.

Color: Bright grey in fresh preserved condition.

Carapace sub circular. There are five obtuse teeth around the clypeiform expansion. Posterior border is bounded by an indistinct tooth on either side. The clypeiform expansion of carapace consisting of five short broad teeth, the last of which is in advance of the level of the posterior border. Its surface is covered with large bullous tubercles arranged in seven parallel longitudinal rows. The antero-lateral borders are smooth in their anterior half, crenulated in their posterior half. The posterior border is bounded on either side by a faint prominence. The pterygostomian regions have a few scanty hairs. The front is sharply bilobed, its tip is not quite so broad as the orbit, beyond the level of it projects. The crest at the distal end of the arm is four-lobed. The upper surface like those on the carapace. The crest of palm is serrate. To sterna corresponding to the 2nd, 3rd and 4th legs are inflated.

Similar species: The abdomen of this species looks like Calappa lophos.
