Size: shrubs or trees 2-4 m tall.

Small tree with pendulous branches. Leaves 2-3 mm long, subulate, triangular semi-amplexicaul base, acute. Flowers 3-4 mm across, bisexual in panicled spiniform recemes, peduncle up to 2.5 mm long, pinkish-white flowers. Seeds 8-10, tufted silky hairy at apex, white, small. Capsules 4-5 mm across, 3-4 valved, tapering towards the apex.

Flowering and fruiting: September-March (West Bengal), November-March (Orissa), August-December (Andhra Pradesh).
