Description
Size: 6-9 m

Leaves thicker and longer, simple, alternate, orbicular, cordate, acuminate leaf tip, 15-20 cm long, narrowed at base, thick and smooth, glabrous, prominent yellow veins. Flowers yellow, similar to Hibiscus tiliaceus, close but style never branched. Fruit with round capsule, 3-4 cm in diameter, shattering irregularly hanging, indehiscent, exocarp not separated from carp, mesocarp absent. Seed 1-1.3cm across, ovoid, angled, with long silky hair along angles.

Flowering and fruiting throughout the year (West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh), December-February (Orissa).
