Description
Trees, up to 10 m tall. Stamens supported by numerous, branched stilt roots. Leaves elliptic, rarely ovate. Inflorescences pedunculate, 2-flowered, rarely 3-4; calyx 4 lobed, ovate, pale yellow; petals 4, lanceolate, membranous, white, densely hairy along margin and sparsely hairy on the adaxial side; stamens 8-16, arranged two distinct whorls. Fruits conical with exserted hypocotyl.
