Description
Small trees, 3-8 m tall. Leaves obovate-narrowly oblong, narrowed at the base, succulent-coriaceous. Flowers in axillary umbellate racemes, 5-merous; calyx-segments distinctly dotted, shortly ciliolate; corolla more or less fleshy, deeply divided, reddish-violet; stamens free; filaments very short; anthers erect, acute, conspicuously transversely plicate; ovary globose; style filiform. Drupe depressed-globose, blackish red. Seed 1, subglobose.

Flowering season: March-July; Fruiting season: August-October
