Color: Dark

Plants about a decimeter tall, the subsimple tubular axes to 2-4 mm diameter; when dry rather firm in texture. The whole membrane 28-42 µ thick, the cells irregularly placed or occasionally oriented in vague longitudinal rows, rather angular, 7-22 µ diameter, radially much taller than broad. Lateral cell walls rather thick, the inner and outer walls even thicker, to 2.5-3.0 µ.
