Description
Size: Length 57-73.4 mm; width 25.8-32 mm; height 10.8-14.9 mm

Color: Bluish purple, covered with a blackish olive epidermis.

Shell elongately transverse, inequilateral. Umbo anterior and eroded. Anterior end rounded, posterior acuminate with obtuse angle. Muscle scars well developed. Anterior elongate and posterior almost oval. Pallial sinus equal on both the valves extending upto ¾ length of the shell.

Their presence can be noticed by the characteristic circular holes through which water is ejected by their siphons on being disturbed.
