Description
Filaments sparingly branched, 40-60(-80) µ diameter; aplanosporangia sometimes formed at the ends of branches, 80µ diameter, 250 µ long; monoecious, the antheridia usually terminal on short branches, separated from the filament by empty cells, 30-45 µ diameter, 150-200 µ long; cylindrical to spindle-shaped with a terminal and 1-2 lateral conical projections which become discharge pores. Oogonia terminal on short branchlets near the antheridia, clavate, distally hemispherical, 140-210 µ diameter, 320-500 µ long. Oospores lenticular, 105-145 µ diameter, 75-110 µ thick with a somewhat incrassate membrane, attached at the distal end of the oogonia.
