Plants dark red or rose pink in color, up to 15 cm tall, erect, firm and gelatinous and attached by a distinct basal disc; thallus dichotomously divided; blades stalked, 2-3 mm wide, lower portions cuneate, upper portions linear, sub-flabellately or fastigiately branched, angle between furcations acute; margins of the blade entire; fronds slightly thickened at the margins and more or less sub-canaliculate or concave on one side.
