Thalli 3-5 cm tall. Branching 2-3-chotomous, sometimes with adventitious branches springing from the nodes, dimorphic, horizontally creeping branches with conspicuous broadly winged segments. Segment with prominent midrib, vertically ascending ones almost cylindrical-compressed.

In longitudinal section, medulla of the intergenicula composed of 3-4 (-5) rows of cells, 50-90 µm long, followed by a row of short cells 7-13 (-20) µm long. Sporangial conceptacles lateral, scattered over surfaces of intergenicula 230-360 µm inside diameter, sporangia tetrasporic, 42-50 µm long.
