Description
Prickly, deciduous trees 4-10 m tall; steams and branches soft, with corky barks. Leaves 3-foliolate; leaflets broadly ovate or rhomboid, entire, glabrescent, acute to acuminate at apex, truncate or obtuse at base. Flowers 3-7 cm across, deep red, in terminal or axillary, many flowered racemes. Pods 10-29 cm, long, torulose, glabrous, beaked.
