Description
Color: Dull or brownish

Thallus form and type: Foliose and branched

Substratum: Intertidal rocks

Occurrence: Lower mid littoral zone, tide pools

Season: November-April

Abundance: Moderate

Thalli membranous to coriaceous, irregularly dichotomously to flabellately branched, 5-20 cm high, solitary or caespitose. Branches plat, variable in breadth 1.5-33 mm wide, margins entire or proliferous, apices acute or ligulate. Transition of cells from cortex to medulla abrupt. Tetrasporangia cruciately divided. Cystocarps prominent, globose or hemispherical, nutritive filaments present. Spermatangial pattern pit-like.
