Description
Color: Pale blue-green or brownish.

Thalli crustaceous up to 1mm thickness. Cells with a broad mucilaginous sheath, spherical, ellipsoidal or somewhat angular, 2-5 ┬Ám in diameter. Colonies consisting of many cells usually surrounded by hyaline sheath and arranged in false branch-like rows. Sheath colorless, yellow to brown, lamellated. Colonies of cells in twos, fours, or eight each in a firm sheath, these fused to form the crust, spherical or with flattened adjacents faces.
