Size: Plants upto 7-13.5 cm in length and 7-12 cm broad

Color: Fronds reddish brown.

Plants cordiform, broadly expanded. Fronds with a serrate margin; monostromatic, 71-74 µm thick in vegetative portions and 74-78 µm thick in reproductive portions. Surface mucilage is 20.7-22.2 µm thick.

Vegetative cells in surface view polygonal, 18-21 µm in the greatest dimension, in cross section 29.6-32.5 µm in height and 14.8-23.6 µm broad. Chromatophore single, with stellate arms extending to the periphery of the cytoplasm. Thallus monoecious, carposporangia originating first from the apex and margin and later on extending inwards over the surface of the thallus. Spermatangia appears as narrow patches. Carpospores 32, arranged in 4 tiers having the spore formula a/2, b/4, c/4, 11.8-14.8 µm in diameter. Spermatia 256, arranged in 8 tiers with the spore formula a/4, b/8, c/8, 3-3.5 µm in diameter.
