Plants epiphytic, forming woolly, felt-like tufts on the host, attached to it by means of creeping irregularly branched filaments, constituting the basal system. Cells of the creeping filaments 33-132 µ long and 13-20 µ broad. Erect filaments richly formed, more or less narrower at the base, broader above, unbranched or sparsely branched. Branches modified onto hairs, confined to above the mid-region of the main filament. Intercalary meristem of the main axis situated a little above the base. Cells of the filaments cylindrical to slightly barrel-shaped, more or less thick-walled, 42-80 µ long and 13-26 µ broad, possessing an irregular plate-like chromatophore.

Plurilocular sporangia situated in the middle portion of the axis, sessile as a rule, rarely pedicellate, pod-like, narrow at the apex but broad and round at the base, 109-198 µ long and 23-26 µ broad.
