Plants slender, laterally branched. Branches short, cylindrical, flexuous, attenuated at the apices, 2-3 mm broad. Axes of the plant composed of cortex and medulla. Cortical filaments long, growing independently from the medullary filaments. Basal cells of the cortical filaments swollen on one side, giving rise to short simple or forked branches terminating into plurilocular sporangia. Hairs long arising laterally from the cortical filaments. Intercalary meristem of the cortical filaments situated above the swollen cells.

Plants bearing only plurilocular sporangia, the latter lanceolate, pedicellate, 55-75µ long and 15µ broad.
