Description
Color: Purplish red, fading to yellowish or pale greenish

Thalli calcified, rigid, frequently densely and regularly dichotomously branched. Saxicolous, forming a globose mass, 3-5 cm high. Branches cylindrical, 1-1.5 mm in diameter with patent or acute axils, ending in blunt apices; projecting assimilatory filaments forming whorls, short, simple or occasionally branched. Cortex 3 layered with nodular epidermal cells.
