Description
Size: Thallus 12-20 cm long; diameter 1.5-4 mm.

Color: Pinkish red; grey-red to brownish red

Thallus erect, very fleshy and succulent, consisting of terete or slightly compressed branches, attached by a branched, fibrous holdfast, composed of cylindrical axes. Side branches in all directions, gradually tapering towards the acute apices, but also towards their base (resulting in spindle-shaped branches). Medullary filaments interwoven, forming a loose meshwork. Tetrasporangia zonately divided, scattered in the outer cortex. Cystocarps immersed or a little prominent on the surface of the frond.
