Description
Size: Height 6-20 cm.

Plants more or less dichotomously branched. Branches cylindrical, slightly flattened near about the joints, apices of the branches attenuated. Thallus bearing prominent tufts of hairs, emerging from superficial depressions. Thallus composed of many layered parenchymatous tissue. Cells of the superficial layer small, more or less rectangular, inner layers formed of larger and elongated cells, irregular in shape.

Plurilocular sporangia grouped in sori, associated with hairs; each clavate, uniseriate.
