Description
Size: 5-8 cm in height and 4-6 cm broad.

Color: Brown

Plants forming tufted growth. Basal portion cuneate, continuing upwards into a narrow stalk which expands and forms a fan-shaped frond. Fronds simple or dichotomously divided, margins entire, curved, apical margins involute. Thallus in younger portion composed of two layers of cells, in older portion three layers, becoming four cells thick near the base. Superficial layers consisting of small rectangular, thin-walled, cells possessing numerous chromatophores; cells of the lower layer large, rectangular, thick-walled, poor in contents. Hairs arranged on the surface of the thallus in concentric rows.

Plants monoecious, reproductive organs forming transverse rows on the surface of the fronds, alternating with the rows of hairs. Antheridia cylindrical, forming sori. Oogonia globular, interspersed among the groups of antheridia. Tetrasporangia oblong, scattered in transverse bands on the surface of the thallus.
