Description
Color: Rose red to dark red

Thalli 2-8 cm in height. Frond flat, spongy, distally flabellate, irregularly lobed, 4-10 mm broad, formed of monosiphonous filaments joined in network, without midrib system, often minutely fimbriate, below increasingly spongy, the surface meskes bearing short divaricate-branched, blunt tipped, free filaments at the nodes. Tetrasporangia on the free filaments, tetrahedrally divided. Spermatangial clusters small, subcylindrical, also on the surface filament. Cystocarps in swelling projecting from the surface, with incurving involacral filaments.
