Thallus forma and type: Bushy, cylindrical and succulent

Substratum: Intertidal rocks, rocks covered with coarse sand

Occurrence: Lower mid littoral zone and infra littoral fringe

Season: November-April

Abundance: Scanty

Plants dark pinkish red in color, up to 17 cm tall, opaque, dichotomously branched many times, slender; thallus cylindrical, deeply constricted at irregular intervals with narrow angles, central axis not visible when dry, multiaxial with central axial filaments and peripheral utricles; utricles flat topped, closely packed in a palisade fashion; cystocarps minute, scattered and not clearly visible to the naked eye. Constrictions very few at irregular intervals, utricles palisade like with flattened outer walls, 8-22 ┬Ám.
