Size: Plants 0.5-1.5 cm in length; upto 0.8-1.9 cm broad

Color: Thallus deep pinkish blue.

Plants small, attached, orbicular. Thallus texture membranous, margin serrate with single-celled spines of 3-9 µm length; monostromatic, 38-44 µm thick in vegetative portions and 41-44 µm thick in reproductive portions. Mucilage upto 8.8-10.3 µm thick.

Vegetative cells in surface view oblong to ovate, 6-9 µm across, in cross section 17.7-23.6 µm in height and 11.8-14.8 µm broad. Chromatophores single.

Thallus monoecious. Carposporangia originating from the margin, extending inwards over the surface of the thallus. Spermatangia forming narrow marginal patches or intermixed with carposporangia. Carpospores 32, arranged in 4 tiers of 8 each having the spore formula a/2, b/4, c/4; 8.8-10.2 µm in diameter. Spermatia 64, arranged in 4 tiers of 16 each having the spore formula a/4, b/4, c/4; 2.5-3 µm in diameter.
