Description
Color: Light purplish red

Thalli terete slender, solid, 10-15 cm high, 0.5-1.5 mm broad, dichotomously to subdichotomously branched. Branches tapering gradually towards the tip. Structurally, consisting of three clearly defined tissues: a central medulla of interwoven thick-walled filaments with elongated cells, an inner cortex of several layers of irregularly shaped, pseudoparenchymatous cells and an outer cortex of one or two layers of small tightly packed pigmented cells.
