Size: Height 2-3 cm

Color: Olive green

Plants growing in tufts, basal portion forming a minute cuneate disc. Upper portion more or less branched dichotomously. Branches uniformly broad, being about 1 mm in breadth, margins entire, apices broad, rounded. Rhizoids growing frequently from the margins of the branches, thus binding the neighboring branches. Thallus composed of superficial layers enclosing a middle layer in between. Cells of the former small, thin-walled, more or less squarish in shape; cells of the middle large, thick-walled, variable in shape, being more or less squarish, or rectangular.

Reproductive bodies distributed as a rule along the mid-region of the branches; in older branches spreading towards the margins. Antheridia and oogonia occurring in form of sori. Antheridia cylindrical, oogonia clavate. Tetrasporangia occurring singly or in groups of 2-3 spherical in shape.
