Description
Size: 69-96 mm.

Color: In preserved specimens light yellowish or pinkish.

Height 4-5.1, 5.3-6.4 in length with caudal. Head 1.5-1.6, 2-2.1 in length with caudal, 3.03-1.2 in its greatest breadth which goes 1.47-1.5 in length without caudal. Eye 6.6-7.7, equal to snout and 1.9-2 in slightly convex interorbital space. Mouth arched, slightly oblique, maxillaries reaching to below middle of eye. Rostrum scarcely prominent above mouth. Opening of rostral cavity lozenge shaped. Illicium with two lateral round bulbs and a short appendix between them. Origin of dorsal nearer to tip of caudal than to tip of snout behind gill opening. Origin of anal below posterior part of dorsal. Dorsal and anal rays simple. Brachial part of pectorals shorter than rayed part, which is longer than distance between outer borders of eyes, and goes 4.3-4.6 in total length. Ventrals two thirds or one half of pectorals. Caudal truncate. Skin of upper parts covered by single or bifid spines on stellated bases, those of lower side much smaller and scattered.
