Description
Max. size: 20.5 cm SL

Colour: Brownish yellow; deep yellow along side; dusky spots over the body.

Dorsal spines (total): 6-6, Dorsal soft rays (total): 14-15, Anal soft rays: 16. Anterior portion of first dorsal fin darkish. Usually 6 scale rows between lateral line and origin of anal fin. Elongated body shape in lateral with moderate scales. Head depressed. Eyes large, dorsal, close together. Mouth large. Lower jaw projecting. A flap of skin at the end of maxilla. Fine teeth in a knob on each side of the apex of the upper jaw, also on vomer and palatines. Caudal truncate.
